Abthorpe is a small village of about 300 people in the valley of the River Tove. It was part of the parish of Towcester and was given a separate ecclesiastical parish when the church was restored in 1737. 130 years it was demolished and replaced with the Church of Saint John the Baptist which still stands in the village today.

Casswell is far more modern, built as part of a concept by the Plessey lab research founded in the 1930s but it has since become a campus-style business park and it plays host to about 10 different companies.

If you feel the need to socialise, nip across to Greens Norton and head to the Butchers Arms for some local beers. In medieval times the village went by the simple name of ‘Norton’ and it passed through the hands of royalty, owned first by Edward the Confessor and latterly William the Conqueror.
